Lactic acid is used in a variety of food stuffs (such as yogurt) to act as an acidity regulator. If it's lactate or lactic acid, it's not from dairy. Pure Fun "Lac" ingredients are produced by a fermentation process using cornstarch or beet sugar. We do not use animal bi-products.
